2024
In this project, I designed a book delivery service with engaging branding, relatable characters for kids, and a mobile app to help families find their next favorite free book. The initiative aimed to foster a love for reading among children (ages 5-10) in low-income neighborhoods by increasing book accessibility. It removed barriers by delivering books to local parks, guiding kids toward their favorite genres, and offering personalized reading recommendations.

The Problem
Children in low-income neighborhoods often have limited access to books due to time and resource constraints faced by their parents, making frequent library visits challenging.
The Research
I developed two personas to identify key barriers to book access. Found that brick-and-mortar libraries were often inconvenient for busy families and that children needed support in discovering their reading levels and preferred genres.

The Solution
I created a mobile book bus that brings books directly to local parks, making them easily accessible. Designed an accompanying app featuring a reading level quiz, genre-inspired characters, and personalized book recommendations to help children explore and develop their reading interests.
